Introduction:

8.30 minutes-Carol gives a history of Tai Chi and general information about the types of movements that will be used in the water. While Carol is narrating, the viewer is watching various portions of the upcoming water workout.

Safety:

1 minute-Carol stands on the deck of the pool and discusses proper water temperature, depth of the water, and aquatic shoes.

Land Practice of the Moves:

27 minutes-Carol shows moves on the deck and then video clips are shown of the same movements from under the surface of the water.

Relaxation:

4 minutes-Carol performs flowing arm movements for a relaxing cool down.

Additional Comments

This workout is done in the shallow end of the pool (waist to chest deep water). Although consumers would get information from this video, it would be best suited for a water instructor looking to add the eastern influence to their moves. The moves can also be duplicated on land for a traditional tai chi workout. The moves are very slow and controlled in the water as they are in a traditional tai chi workout. If an instructor is looking for fast paced choreography for the water, this is NOT for them. However, if you are looking to adapt tai chi to the water, this is an excellent source for instruction.
